Signs of an unwell child

It’s the peak of Winter bugs currently! Dr Sophie talks through what signs to look out for if your child is unwell and goes through features such as fever, difficulty breathing, rash, lethargy and reduced urine output.

Please note the guidance below is for children rather than young babies – babies under 3 months of age with any fever of 38 degrees and above need to be seen in A&E, and babies 3-6 months of age with a fever 39 degrees or above also need to be seen in A&E.

Please also note the guidance below is not a substitute for personalised medical advice. We recommend consulting with your doctor if your child is unwell. At Courtfield we pride ourselves in providing same day appointments and all children with urgent health concerns will be seen “on the day”.
