Dr Wood is our Senior Associate – she was the first Associate to join Dr Ladbrooke and Dr Harling in the formation of Courtfield Private Practice and has been very involved in its development. In 2016 she set up its new clinical software.

Dr Wood has a special interest in the education of future doctors, having been a GP tutor at Imperial College London. She has been clinical governance lead for Night Doctor, which provides out of hours cover for this surgery and other local practices. She has featured in the TV series “Bumps, Babies & Beyond” with Myleene Klass.

Dr Laura Wood worked in hospital Obstetrics & Gynaecology before her GP training, and brings this experience to the Courtfield Private Practice as one of her special interests, along with paediatrics. She enjoys seeing children of all ages but spends a lot of time with the under 5s.

Laura has her own son at home, so is familiar with the pressures of family life. She plays an active role at her son’s school in fundraising. Married to a barrister, Tom, Laura enjoys cooking, having qualified as a Cordon Bleu chef in the year before joining medical school.

“Dr Wood strikes a positive balance between empathy and listening AND professional knowledge, guidance and options. I can absolutely trust her guidance and that she will keep facts about me and my questions confidential. She is an asset to CPP!”
