Dr Laura Wood

Dr Laura Wood joined Courtfield in 2011. Originally from London, she qualified at Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine, in 2004. She went on to complete her General Practice training in London, and subsequently gained the Diploma of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, the Diploma of Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr Wood has a special interest in the education of future doctors, having been a GP tutor at Imperial College London. She has been clinical governance lead for Night Doctor, which provides out of hours cover for this surgery and other local practices. She has featured in the TV series “Bumps, Babies & Beyond” with Myleene Klass. Dr Wood has been very involved in the development of Courtfield Private Practice, and recently set up its new clinical software.
Dr Laura Wood worked in hospital Obstetrics & Gynaecology before her GP training, and brings this experience to the Courtfield Private Practice as one of her special interests, along with paediatrics. She enjoys seeing children of all ages but spends a lot of time with the under 5s. Furthermore with special training in the Pronokal Method, Dr Wood offers consultations in weight management and weight loss.
Laura has her own little boy at home, so is familiar with the pressures of family life. She plays an active role at her son’s school in fundraising. Married to a barrister, Tom, Laura enjoys cooking, having qualified as a Cordon Bleu chef in the year before joining medical school.
