Dr Wood joins Yahoo panel for handy tips on pregnancy and babies
Dr Laura Wood, Courtfield’s latest member of the medical team, has taken part in a series of video chats in Bumps, Babies & Beyond, a 48-part video series exclusive to Yahoo! Lifestyle, the online news magazine that looks at issues ranging from health and parenting to fashion and relationships.
In the first three videos, each lasting about 4 mins and hosted by Myleene Klass, the classical musician and TV/radio presenter, Dr Wood joins a group of mothers and mothers to be to discuss common problems experienced by new mothers.
The first, Body changes no one told you about, looks at what you should be warned about before you have a baby. Here new mothers talk about the things no one told them such as unexplained hair loss, stretch marks and physical changes to their bodies.
A second video, Common Pregnancy Myths, sets out to debunk some commonly held beliefs such as 'You can fly in your first trimester' or ‘First babies are always late’ and ‘Pregnancy cravings mean you are lacking something in your diet’!
A third, entitled, When should you take your baby to the doctor? looks at worrying issues for the inexperienced new mother such as understanding and coping with baby’s first illness and at what point should a mother follow her instincts and take her baby to the doctors.
